Lallemand Animal nutrition strengthens its ruminant and forage technical team around the world

Five new experts joined in Europe, Turkey, USA, and Australia for optimal customer support.

To support global growth and better serve customers, Lallemand Animal Nutrition has strengthened its team of ruminant experts across the globe. The company is pleased to welcome Roel Baakman in Northern and Eastern Europe, Kip Karges in the USA, Okan Şekerci in Turkey, and Katrina Hubeek and Nathan Lister, both in Australia.

Our experts are dedicated to supporting customers in the field through the Lallemand Forward services, which include on-farm silage and rumen efficiency audits, troubleshooting and many other customer-specific offerings for optimal farm profitability and customer success.”

Roel Baakman is based in the Netherlands and he will provide technical support for ruminant feed additives and forage inoculants in the Netherlands as well as surrounding countries in Northern and Eastern Europe.  He holds an MSc degree in Animal Science from Wageningen University. Prior to joining Lallemand, he worked as ruminant product manager for Pre-Mervo (Nuscience) and as a specialist in sustainability and nutrition for the agricultural trading and supply company Cefetra. Roel has solid expertise in dairy nutrition.

Okan Şekerci is Technical support for the ruminant feed additives and silage inoculant market in Turkey, where he will work in close collaboration with dairy and silage specialist Hakan Özekmeçi. After graduating in Veterinary Medicine from Ankara University in 2005, Okan acquired field experience in ruminant management and nutrition working for farms and feed producers in the country. For the past six years, he has worked as a Sales and Technical support specialist for dairy farms.

Kip Karges will support North America on the ruminant technical support team. He has more than 25 years of experience in the feed industry and holds a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. Initially trained as a beef cattle nutritionist, he has evolved into a multi-species nutritionist: beef, dairy, poultry, as well as swine and aquaculture. He has been focusing on three areas: research and development, technical service and technical sales. In his previous work, he was heavily involved with the R&D of new product streams, marketing messaging, distribution channels, logistics, and sales.

Katrina Hubeek will support the company’s forage and feed ingredients business for ruminants in Gippsland and Tasmania. Katrina has nearly 11 years of experience with ruminant nutrition and animal health as well as prior experience in dairy and stockfeed services. She has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and an Adv Dip of Agriculture both from the University of Melbourne. She is also a full member of the Australian Association of Ruminant Nutritionists (AARN).

Nathan Lister is a new Technical Services Manager, supporting Lallemand forage and feed ingredient business in Australia. Nathan comes from a farming family and has worked in the agricultural industry for over 10 years. He has an Associate Degree in Production Animal Science and has a strong focus on animal health, management, and operations.
