Agrinews24.com: The 10th Kolkata International Poultry Fair 2024 has started in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The fair which started on 06 February in Eco Park-Major Artrial Road(South-East,Biswa Bangla Sarani) of the capital will continue until 09 February. The fair has organized by West Bengal Poultry Federation In Association with Animal Resources Development Department, Govt. of West Bengal.
General Secretary of West Bengal Poultry Federation & Convenor Kolkata International Poultry Fair 2024 Mr. Madan Mohan Maity said,The objective of this poultry fair is to enhance the growth of poultry industry in the State and adjacent States including North East. Apart from the farmers, renowned poultry personalities from different parts of India, Speakers and poultry producers all over India and neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Mayamar etc attend the fair. Apart from India, a greater number of stalls have been taken from other countries in this fair. We expect the number of footfalls to the fair may exceed 50,000.
“We also discuss among the poultry association of nearby states including North East, how to develop poultry Industry more profitable manner for which we have from Eastern India Poultry Development Forum. We are trying to consolidate the associations of different North Eastern States” he added.
On 6th.February A whole day International Conference on Poultry business (NOVACON) has been arranged followed by inauguration of 10th Kolkata International Poultry Fair 2024. Eminent speakers from the reputed organisations from different parts of India & outside India delivered their lectures in the presence of expert panels viz Additional Chief Secretary,Directors of State Government Officials etc. for technological development of the farmer and industry in this seminar.
A student zone has been kept for the students in the fair which is for mainly for students of school and colleges. Erudite persons in Poultry Sciences and professors of West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences educate those students on the poultry related issues, which may help to become the entrepreneurs of the said Industry in future and join as a professional to the poultry in future.
Besides, a technical seminar has been organized on the third day of the fair (08 February). This seminar module is made for day-to-day farming for poultry farm production personnel. In this seminar will be in Bengali & Hindi for poultry farmers and poultry related persons which covers the latest development of poultry farming.
There are also PAN India broiler coordination committee meeting: Discussion on the Current Broiler Market Scenario and Price Trends and discussion on the Current Broiler Market Scenario and Price Trends and to explore export potentials. Cultural programme:In a cultural program followed by Gala dinner will be held in evening at Kafe Ekante, Eco Park.
On 9th Feb Meeting with Central Government officials: .A Seminar has been arranged by the DAHD, Govt of India to promote HPAI free compartmentalisation of egg exports especially table eggs in Eastern India. The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying experts will guide the participants on the application process and its formalities thereof. There will an interactive session with the Poultry farmers & major stake holders for their benefits.
Moreover, West Bengal Poultry Federation started to organize Poultry fair since 2012 in association with Animal Sources Development department, Govt. of West Bengal.
