Nourish & Solidaridad Signed MoU to Collaborate in Soybean Supply Chain Development

Agrinews24.com Desk: The signing ceremony took place in the Dhanmondi office of Agrow Breeders Ltd., known as Nourish. The MoU was signed with the objective to develop a dedicated market of quality soybean produced by the Solidaridad supported farmers through a smart process of production and sourcing. The collaboration will improve and manage the market processes to enhance transparency and fairness in pricing and quality by maintaining specified standards in producing harvesting and post-harvest management. The collaboration will also create support mechanisms for farmers to expand soybean farming and continuously improvement in quality.

Management team of Solidaridad and Nourish were present in the signing ceremony. During his speech, Mr. Selim Reza Hasan, Country Manager of Solidaridad Network in Bangladesh mentioned that this partnership in Soybean supply chain development will open up opportunities to multiply the productivity and marketing of soybean products and farmers will be motivated to enhance productivity by adopting smart agricultural practices in soybean production, as market assurance will be facilitated. Farmers will be able to develop their capacities on standardization and the use of improved varieties for enhanced productivity and high quality production of soybean. Mr. Saiful Arefin Khaled, Director of Agro Breeders Limited expressed their continuous commitment to support in the soybean supply chain development and develop a dedicated system to that would aid farmers to supply high quality soybean for them. This would include establishing upgraded storage facilities (including dryer and silos, moisture meters) in the aggregation points and dedicated human resources for quality control. He also discussed about their upcoming investments on agricultural supply chains and shared their plans to collaborate with the international food industries. The discussion opened up opportunities for future collaborations between the two organizations in other commodity supply chains and contribute towards more sustainable private public partnerships for agricultural development of the country.
